POSCORAD

What is the POSCORAD?

POSCORAD is derived from the SCORAD, one of the most widely used assessment scores.

POSCORAD is a useful tool dedicated to patients suffering from eczema.

POSCORAD is a score, which can be easily used by the patient without any particular experience.

POSCORAD was created for the patient in order to help patients or caregivers to follow the course of the disease and the effect of the treatment.

POSCORAD has been validated in several studies (Vourc’h-Jourdain M, Barbarot S, Taieb A et al. Patient-oriented SCORAD: a self-assessment score in atopic dermatitis. A preliminary feasibility study. Dermatology. 2009;218:246-251.

Stalder JF, Barbarot S, Wollenberg A et al. Patient-Oriented SCORAD (PO-SCORAD): a new self-assessment scale in atopic dermatitis validated in Europe. Allergy. 2011;66:1114-1121.)

Why use the POSCORAD?

AD is a chronic disease and which is mainly treated using local treatments that the patients themselves apply.

The efficacy of the treatment is thus directly related to the patient’s observance.

Doctors frequently use assessment scores during their consultations to evaluate the extent and severity of the disease (SCORAD). In atopic patients the course of the disease can vary considerably between two visits and the profile of this fluctuation is essential in order to know the real impact of the treatment. POSCORAD can help the patients to calculate, by themselves, the severity of their disease.

Who owns the POSCORAD?

POSCORAD was created by a group of experts (ETFAD) in order to help doctors and patients to improve the management of atopic dermatitis.

How can I obtain the POSCORAD?

POSCORAD is available as a free download below.

This software contains an illustrated application for assessing severity, extent, pruritus and sleep loss. A regular (weekly) use of this application allows the patient to create a curve representing the fluctuations of his disease between consultations.
